The Woodland Elementary site in the Elmhurst neighborhood of East Oakland features a full set of newly constructed facilities, and hosts two separate elementary school programs--ACORN Woodland Elementary School, and EnCompass Academy. The site's new construction also included a shared-use public library at the corner of 81st Avenue. The surrounding area is split between industrial sites to the south and west, and entirely residential development to the north and east. About a mile west is the Oakland Coliseum, and BART station, and the site is also nearby several small parks and the Tassafaronga Recreation Center.
