The School for Social Justice site, which currently hosts the Hillside Academy program, is located at the north-west corner of Castlemont High School. These two schools are on the southern edge of the Eastmont neighborhood, in a primarily residential community although MacArthur Boulevard is the exception, with a number of small businesses along its path. The two sites are also directly adjacent to the Youth Uprising community organization, which offers programs that engage young people in community improvement projects and personal development programs.
