Oakland High School is situated on the north end of Oakland's Cleveland Heights District at the intersection of Park Boulevard & MacArthur Boulevard. The surrounding neighborhood is predominantly residential, and is also nearby Highland Hospital, which sits to the south, and the Glenview shopping district, which lies along Park Boulevard to the north-east and consists of a small grocery store, several restaurants, and a handful of other small businesses. Public transportation is available along Park Boulevard and MacArthur Boulevard, and the Oakland High School site is also directly across the street from an I-580 on-ramp.
