"Oakland Community Day School--or 'CDS'--sits nestled in the Oakland hills on the site of the Old Chabot Observatory. The CDS campus includes both a middle school and a high school. CDS serves Oakland Unified School District's expelled students in grades 6 - 8 in the middle school and 9 - 12 in the high school. CDS has the highest staff-to-student ratio in the district with class sizes ranging from five to ten students." - Community Day School website
